Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This policy explains how Newfeldt ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit newfeldt.com or use any of our tooling and utility apps, including our mail archiving app and our document filing app (together, the "Services").
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you contact us or sign up for something, we collect what you provide, such as your name and email address.
- Usage information. Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, for security and reliability.
- Email you choose to archive. If you connect an email account to our mail archiving app, the app reads your messages, attachments, and folder or label information so it can keep a copy and make it searchable for you.
- Documents you choose to file. Our document filing app reads the documents you place in the folders you tell it to watch, so it can name, tag, and file them.
- Account connection details. When you connect an account, such as a Google account, the app stores the access tokens needed to keep that connection working.
Google user data
If you connect a Google account, we access only the Google data needed for the feature you turn on. For example, the mail archiving app reads your Gmail messages to make a copy of them. We do not use Google data to send email, change, or delete anything in your account unless a feature you enable clearly says it will.
We use Google user data only to provide and improve the features you use. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI or machine learning models. People do not read it unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security or to comply with law, or it has been aggregated and anonymized.
Newfeldt's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect a Google account at any time in the app or from your Google Account permissions page.
Where your data is kept
Our apps are built to keep your email and documents on your own computer or storage. Some features, such as smart search or automatic filing, send the content of a message or document to an AI provider to process it. That content is used only to return a result to you, and is handled under that provider's terms that bar using it to train their models.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Services
- To respond to your questions and requests
- To keep the Services secure and prevent abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Services (such as hosting, email, and AI processing providers), under obligations to protect it, or when required by law.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to deliver the site securely.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then delete or anonymize it. Archived email and filed documents stay where the app stores them until you delete them. If you disconnect an account, the app stops reading from it and deletes its access tokens.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
